Getting There

  • Car

    From Etchu, head towards the Toyama Prefecture on Route 8. Follow the signs for Tateyama, which will lead you to Route 41. Continue on Route 41 until you reach the Tateyama Station area. There, you will find parking options. The drive takes approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. Note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared with some cash.

    Start by taking a train from Etchu to Toyama Station. Once at Toyama Station, transfer to the Toyama Chiho Railway and take the train to Tateyama Station. This journey will take around 1 hour. From Tateyama Station, you need to board the Kurobe Cable Car (Kurobe Trolley Bus) which will take you directly to the Kurobe Dam. The cable car ride costs approximately ¥2,000 round trip and takes about 30 minutes. Ensure to check the schedule as the cable car operates at specific intervals.
