Getting There

Car
From the city center of Omi, get on Route 8 heading northwest. After approximately 40 km, merge onto Route 41 toward Kurobe. Continue for about 15 km until you reach the Kurobe area. Follow the signs for Unazuki Onsen and eventually for Sarutobi Canyon. There are several parking lots available near the canyon, but be aware that some might charge a small fee (around ¥500).

Public Transportation
Start at Omi Station and take the JR Hokuriku Line in the direction of Kurobe. The train ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Kurobe Station, transfer to the Toyama Chihō Railway and take the train towards Unazuki Onsen. The ride is approximately 20 minutes. Get off at Unazuki Onsen Station. From there, you can either walk (about 30 minutes) following the signs for Sarutobi Canyon or take a local bus if available. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as they may not run frequently.
