Car
From Shinano, take Route 117 heading towards Hakuba. Continue on Route 117 for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 148. Turn left onto Route 148 and continue for about 10 km. Follow the signs for Hokujo, Hakuba. Upon reaching Hokujo, look for signs directing you to Mt. Karamatsu, located at Hokujo, Hakuba, Kitaazumi District, Nagano 399-9301. Parking is available near the trailhead, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

Public Transportation - Bus
From Shinano, head to the nearest bus station and take a bus bound for Hakuba. The journey to the Hakuba bus terminal takes approximately 40 minutes. Once at the Hakuba bus terminal, transfer to a local bus that goes to Hokujo. Get off at the stop closest to Mt. Karamatsu. After disembarking, follow the signs leading to the trailhead. Ensure to check the bus schedules beforehand as service may vary.

Public Transportation - Train
From Shinano, drive or take a bus to Nagano Station, which is the nearest major train station. From Nagano Station, take the JR Oito Line train towards Minami-Otari. Get off at Hakuba Station, which usually takes around 60 minutes. From Hakuba Station, catch a local bus to Hokujo. After arriving at Hokujo, follow the signs to Mt. Karamatsu. Be sure to verify the train and bus schedules for your travel date.
