  • Car

    If you are driving in Hitachi, head southeast on Route 6 towards the Ibaraki interchange. Follow signs for the Joban Expressway (E6) and merge onto it. Stay on the expressway for approximately 70 km. Take the exit toward Tsukuba, and continue on Route 125. Follow signs for Taito City, and use your GPS to navigate to 6 Chome-1-13 Yanaka, Taito City, Tokyo 110-0001. There is parking available near Daigyoji, but be prepared for possible fees.

  • Train

    Start at Hitachi Station and take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and costs around 1,500 yen. Get off at Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and head towards Asakusa. Get off at the next stop, which is Ueno-Okachimachi Station. From there, you can walk to Daigyoji by heading north on Route 45, then turning left onto Yanaka Street. The temple should be a short walk away.

  • Bus

    From Hitachi, take the Ibaraki Kotsu bus service to Mito Station. This trip takes about 30 minutes and costs around 600 yen. Once at Mito Station, switch to the JR Joban Line to Ueno Station (approximately 1 hour, 1,500 yen). Finally, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line at Ueno Station and get off at Ueno-Okachimachi Station. Walk north on Route 45, then turn left onto Yanaka Street to reach Daigyoji.
