  • Car

    If you're traveling by car from central Izu, take National Route 135 heading north. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the town of Hakone. Look for signs directing you to Sengokuhara, where Marudake is located. Once in Sengokuhara, follow the signs to the Marudake trailhead. There is a small parking area near the trailhead, but be aware that parking may incur a fee of around 500 yen.

    From Izu, take the Izukyu Railway to Odawara Station. At Odawara Station, transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway and travel to Gōra Station. From Gōra Station, take the Hakone Tozan Cable Car to Sōunzan Station. At Sōunzan Station, board the Hakone Ropeway and disembark at Owakudani Station. Finally, take a local bus from Owakudani to Sengokuhara. Be prepared for a bus fare of approximately 600 yen. Once you arrive in Sengokuhara, follow the signs to the Marudake trailhead, which is accessible on foot.
