Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from Tokyo. Take the Kan-Etsu Expressway (高速道路) towards Takasaki. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Exit at the Kiryu interchange and follow Route 50 towards Kiryu city. After approximately 15 minutes, follow the signs to Mount Akagi. You will find parking areas at the base of the mountain. Note that parking fees may apply, generally around ¥500 per day.

  • Train and Bus

    For those using public transportation, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Takasaki Station. This journey takes about 50 minutes. From Takasaki Station, transfer to the JR Ryomo Line and head towards Kiryu Station, which takes around 20 minutes. Once at Kiryu Station, you can catch a bus bound for Mount Akagi.
