From Tokyo, take the Tohoku Expressway (Tohoku Jidoshado) and exit at the Nikko interchange. Follow the signs towards Nikko and then take Route 120 towards the city center. The gardens are approximately 30 minutes from the interchange. Parking is available near the entrance but may incur a fee.

    For travelers using public transportation, start by taking the Tobu Nikko Line from Tokyo. You can board this train from Asakusa Station. After about two hours, get off at Tobu Nikko Station. From there, take a bus (Nikko City Bus) bound for 'Nikko Kanaya Hotel' and get off at the 'Shinkyo' stop. The Nikko Botanical Gardens is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop, following the signs towards the gardens. The train fare is approximately 2,700 yen one way.
