If you are driving, set your GPS to '15 Chome-778 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0981'. From the center of Kyoto, take the Keihan Highway (Route 1) heading southeast. Follow the signs for Tōfuku-ji Temple. There is limited parking available near the temple, so be prepared for a short walk from the parking area to the temple entrance. Note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen.

Public Transportation - Train
To reach Tōfuku-ji Temple using public transportation, take the JR Nara Line or the Keihan Main Line from Kyoto Station. If using the JR Nara Line, disembark at Tōfukuji Station (approximately a 5-minute ride). From Tōfukuji Station, exit and walk approximately 10 minutes to the temple. If taking the Keihan Main Line, disembark at Tōfukuji Station, and the temple is about a 15-minute walk from there. Make sure to check train schedules as they can vary throughout the day.

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kyoto Station. Board the Kyoto City Bus number 206 or 208. Get off at the 'Tōfuku-ji Temple' bus stop, which is directly outside the temple. The bus fare is typically around 230 yen. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
