Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you're starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (green line) to Shijo Station. Transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line and take a train to Kawaramachi Station. From Kawaramachi Station, exit and walk towards the Kamo River. Cross the river using the Shijo Ohashi bridge and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Sanjo Dori. Here, turn left and walk for about 10 minutes. You will see Kiyomizuzaka on your right.

    If you are nearby, you can walk to Kiyomizuzaka from Gion. Head north on Shijo Avenue, then turn right onto Hanamikoji Street. Walk through Gion, then continue heading north until you reach Kiyomizuzaka. The area is characterized by its traditional wooden buildings and shops leading up to Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, catch bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera. Get off at the Kiyomizu-dera stop. From there, follow the signs leading up the hill towards Kiyomizuzaka. It's a short walk that takes about 10 minutes, making your way through the charming shops and cafes.
