Public Transportation
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line (about 2-3 stops depending on your destination) to Tofuku-ji Station. At Tofuku-ji Station, transfer to the Keihan Main Line and take a train towards Demachiyanagi, getting off at Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. From there, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) or take a bus (Keihan Bus #100 or #206) directly to Kiyomizu-dera. The bus fare is typically around 230 yen one way.
