Public Transport
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (Line 1) northbound to Kitayama Station. Transfer to the San-in Main Line (JR West) and head towards Kameoka for one stop to Gion-Shijo Station. From Gion-Shijo Station, exit and head east towards Shijo-dori Street. Walk along Shijo-dori until you reach the intersection with Kiyomizu-zaka Street. Turn left onto Kiyomizu-zaka and continue walking straight until you reach Jishu Jinja Somon (Main Gate) at 1 Chome-317 Kiyomizu, Higashiyama Ward. The shrine is located near the entrance to Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

If you find yourself near the Gion district, head towards the Kamo River. Walk along the river north until you reach the Sanjo Bridge. Cross over the bridge and continue walking straight. You will come to a T-intersection. Turn right and proceed to Shijo-dori, which is a main street of Kyoto. Walk along Shijo-dori until you reach the intersection with Kiyomizu-zaka Street. Turn left and continue straight until you arrive at Jishu Jinja Somon (Main Gate) located at 1 Chome-317 Kiyomizu.

From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 in the direction of Kiyomizu-dera. The ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the Kiyomizu-michi bus stop.
