Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Kumamoto City, take the Kyushu Expressway (E3) towards Aso. Follow the signs for Aso and exit at Aso Interchange. From the interchange, take Route 57 towards Aso. Continue on Route 57 for about 30 minutes until you reach the ASO SANJO TERMINAL at 808-5 Kurokawa, Aso, Kumamoto 869-2225. Be aware that tolls apply when using the expressway, which can vary depending on your starting point.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From Kumamoto Station, take the Hohi Main Line towards Aso Station. This journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Aso Station, transfer to a local bus. Take the Kyushu Sanko Bus bound for Kurokawa Onsen, and get off at ASO SANJO TERMINAL. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. The total cost for the train and bus will be around ¥1,500-¥2,000.
