If you are traveling by car, start on the Kyushu Expressway (E3) and head toward Kumamoto. Take the Aso Interchange exit and follow the signs for Route 57 toward Aso. Continue on Route 57 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Ichinomiyamachi Miyaji. The gorge is located near the town of Aso, and you will find parking available at the site. Please be aware that there may be parking fees, so have some cash handy.

Train and Bus
For those using public transportation, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kumamoto Station. From Kumamoto Station, transfer to the JR Hohi Line and travel to Aso Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, you can take a local bus towards Ichinomiyamachi. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to Sensuikyo Gorge.

Alternatively, if you prefer a more direct route upon arriving at Aso Station, you can take a taxi to Sensuikyo Gorge. Taxis are available outside the station. The ride will take around 20 minutes and may cost approximately 3,000 to 4,000 yen. This option provides a convenient way to reach the gorge without needing to navigate public transport schedules.
