Getting There

Car
If you're driving from central Shinano, head towards Route 403. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 292. Turn left onto Route 292 and follow the signs for Shibu Onsen. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Kokuya Ryokan. Turn left onto Hirao Street, and the ryokan will be on your right at 2200 Hirao, Yamanochi, Shimotakai District, Nagano 381-0401. Parking is available on-site.

Train and Bus
If you are using public transportation, first take the JR Nagano Line from Nagano Station to Yudanaka Station. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Yudanaka Station, exit the station and take the bus bound for Shibu Onsen. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the Shibu Onsen stop. From there, Kokuya Ryokan is a short 5-minute walk; head east on Hirao Street until you reach 2200 Hirao, where the ryokan is located.
