Getting There

  • Car

    From Yufuin, drive south on Route 210 for approximately 30 kilometers (about 40 minutes). The route will take you through beautiful mountain scenery. Follow the signs for Aso-Kuju National Park as you approach Kurokawa. Once you reach Kurokawa, continue for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the park entrance at 1180 Kurokawa, Aso, Kumamoto 869-2225. Parking is available at the park, but be aware that there may be a fee of around 500 yen for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    From Yufuin Station, take the JR Kyushu train bound for Aso Station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Aso Station, you can take a local bus (Niki Bus) to Kurokawa Onsen, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. The bus will drop you off at Kurokawa Onsen, from where you can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a taxi to the park entrance at 1180 Kurokawa, Aso, Kumamoto 869-2225. The bus fare from Aso Station to Kurokawa is around 800 yen.
