Car

From Almaty city center, head southeast on Al-Farabi Avenue towards the Medeu District. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Tole Bi Street. Turn right onto Tole Bi Street and follow it until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto the road leading to the Medeu Skating Rink. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views of the mountains. You will eventually reach the Bol'shoy Talgarskiy Pereval pass. There is no entrance fee, but be cautious of the winding mountain roads.
Public Transportation

From Almaty, take bus number 12 or 28 from the city center towards Medeu. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Medeu Skating Rink stop. From there, you can either hike to Bol'shoy Talgarskiy Pereval, which is about 8 kilometers away, or hire a local taxi for about 1000-1500 KZT to take you directly to the pass. If you choose to hike, follow the marked trails leading up to the pass, ensuring you have sufficient water and snacks for the trek.
