Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Bar Harbor. Head south on Main Street (Route 3). After about 1 mile, take a right onto Crooked Road. Continue on Crooked Road until you reach the intersection with Higgins Farm Road. Turn left onto Higgins Farm Road, and you will find the entrance to Indian Point Blagden Preserve on your right. There is no admission fee, so enjoy the scenic drive!
Public Transportation
Use the Island Explorer bus service, which operates on Mount Desert Island during the summer months. Catch the bus at any of the designated stops in Bar Harbor. Take the Route 3 bus towards the Hulls Cove Visitor Center. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Crooked Road' stop. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk down Crooked Road to Higgins Farm Road. Turn left onto Higgins Farm Road, and the entrance to Indian Point Blagden Preserve will be on your right.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous, consider biking to Indian Point Blagden Preserve. Start in Bar Harbor and head south on Main Street (Route 3). Once you reach Crooked Road, turn right and follow it until you reach Higgins Farm Road. Turn left onto Higgins Farm Road, and the preserve entrance will be on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and use hand signals when turning!
