Getting There

  • Metro

    To get to the National Theatre DC located at 1321 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004, start by heading to the nearest Metro station in Bethesda, which is the Bethesda Metro Station on the Red Line. Once you're at the station, board a train heading towards Glenmont. After about 15 minutes of travel, get off the train at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. From there, follow the signs to exit onto 7th Street NW. As you exit, turn left onto 7th Street NW and walk south for about 0.3 miles until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Turn right on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, and you will see the National Theatre DC on your left.

  • Bus

    From downtown Bethesda, you can take the Ride On bus route 34 towards Silver Spring. Get off at the Bethesda Metro Station and switch to the Metro. Follow the same instructions as above to get to the National Theatre DC. Alternatively, you can take the Metrobus route L8, which will take you directly to the Silver Spring Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont and get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Continue walking as described previously to reach your destination.

    If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, you can stroll through Bethesda to the National Theatre DC. Start at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Elm Street. Walk south on Wisconsin Avenue until you reach the Bethesda Metro Station. From there, you can continue to the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station as described above. Alternatively, from the Bethesda Metro Station, you can walk to the National Theatre. Head south on Wisconsin Avenue, then take a left onto M Street NW, and then right onto 7th Street NW. Walk straight until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue NW and turn right to find the theatre.
