Car
If you are traveling by car, start on US Route 2. From the town of West Glacier, take the Going-to-the-Sun Road (MT-25) heading east. Note that this road may have seasonal closures, typically from mid-September to late June. Drive approximately 24 miles until you reach the junction for the Many Glacier area. Turn left onto MT-89 North and continue for about 12 miles. You will arrive at the Many Glacier Hotel area. The parking lot for the trailhead to Ptarmigan Tunnel is located near the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. There is a parking fee of $2 per vehicle for day use.

The shuttles typically run to various locations in Glacier National Park.
