Getting There

  • Hiking

    To reach Grinnell Lake, start your hike from the Grinnell Glacier Trailhead, which is located at the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park. Begin your hike on the Grinnell Glacier Trail. The trail is well-marked and starts at the end of the Many Glacier Road. Follow the trail for about 1.5 miles, which will take you through beautiful scenery, crossing streams, and providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach a fork in the trail. Take the left fork towards Grinnell Lake. Continue on this path for another 1.5 miles until you reach Grinnell Lake. The total round trip from the trailhead to Grinnell Lake is about 3 miles, and it typically takes 2 to 3 hours to complete depending on your pace and stops.

  • Public Transit/Shuttle

    If you are not up for the hike, consider using the park's shuttle services.
