Getting There

    From Whitefish Mountain Resort, head south on Big Mountain Road towards Whitefish. Continue straight to merge onto US-93 S. Follow US-93 S for about 7 miles until you reach the junction with MT-82. Turn left onto MT-82 and follow it for approximately 12 miles. You will pass by beautiful views and some local farms. Continue on MT-82 until it merges into MT-2 W. Follow MT-2 W for another 7 miles, and then turn right onto MT-206 W. Continue straight for about 6 miles, and you will arrive at Lake McDonald, which is within Glacier National Park.

    From Whitefish Mountain Resort, take the local shuttle service that operates between the resort and downtown Whitefish. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule for departure times. Once you arrive in downtown Whitefish, transfer to the Flathead County public transit bus heading towards Glacier National Park. You will need to get off at the West Glacier Park entrance stop. From there, you can either walk or take a park shuttle that will take you directly to Lake McDonald. Make sure to arrive early to coordinate the transfer times.
