Getting There

Walking
If you are staying in Thamel, start at the Thamel Chowk. From here, head towards the main road, and turn left onto Dilli Bazaar. Walk straight until you reach the Ratna Park bus station. From Ratna Park, you can take a local bus or walk to the National Museum. If you choose to walk, continue straight down the road until you reach the intersection with Museum Marg. Turn right onto Museum Marg and follow it until you reach the National Museum, which will be on your left.

Public Bus
From Thamel, walk to the nearest bus stop at Ratna Park. Look for buses heading towards Chhauni or the National Museum. Once you board the bus, inform the conductor that you want to get off at the National Museum. The bus will drop you off near the entrance. After disembarking, simply walk up Museum Marg to reach the museum entrance.

Cycle Rickshaw
From Thamel, you can hire a cycle rickshaw. Negotiate the fare beforehand, usually around 200-300 NPR. The rickshaw will take you directly to Museum Marg. Once you arrive at Museum Marg, the National Museum will be a short walk ahead on the left side.

Taxi (Metered or App-based)
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any central location in Kathmandu. Make sure to communicate that you want to go to the National Museum located on Museum Marg. The ride will typically take around 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure the driver knows the location well, as it is a popular tourist destination.
