Public Bus
From Carlsbad, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Catch the Route 1 bus towards the Carlsbad Downtown Transit Center. Once you arrive at the Transit Center, transfer to the Route 7 bus heading towards the airport. Get off at the stop for La Jolla Cove. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to the cove. Follow the signs towards the beach, and you'll arrive at the stunning La Jolla Cove.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Carlsbad. Head south on Main Street and continue onto the Riverwalk Trail. Follow the trail west until you reach the intersection with Highway 62. Turn left and ride until you reach the coastline. Continue biking along the coast until you arrive at La Jolla Cove. The ride is scenic and takes about 1.5 hours.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk, start from the center of Carlsbad and head south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Highway 62. Cross the highway and follow the pedestrian path along the coast. This will lead you directly to La Jolla Cove. The walk is approximately 2.5 miles and takes about an hour, but you will be rewarded with beautiful views along the way.
