Getting There

• Public Bus

  From your location in Carlsbad, head to the nearest bus stop and take the NM-18 bus towards Carlsbad. Ride the bus until you reach the Carlsbad Transit Center. At the Transit Center, transfer to the Greyhound bus service heading towards El Paso. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance. Once on the Greyhound bus, enjoy the journey to San Diego, which may take a few hours. When you arrive at the San Diego Greyhound station, exit and use public transportation or a taxi to navigate to Point Loma.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop in Carlsbad. Once you have your bike, ride south on NM-285, which connects to major bike paths leading towards San Diego. It’s a scenic route, but be prepared for a lengthy ride. After arriving in San Diego, follow local bike lanes to Point Loma. Make sure to use a GPS app to guide you to Ladera St.

• Walking

  If you are close enough to the downtown area of Carlsbad, you can explore on foot. Start from the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and head south on NM-285 until you reach the junction with NM-62. Continue walking on NM-62 west until you reach the train station. From there, take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner towards San Diego. Once you arrive at the San Diego station, you can either take a local bus or a rideshare service to reach Sunset Cliffs Natural Park.
