Walking
From the center of Carlsbad, head south on S Canal St towards W Main St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with S 1st St. Turn right onto S 1st St and walk for another 0.3 miles until you reach the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center. From there, head east on W Fox St for 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with S Main St. Continue straight onto S Main St for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with W Cottage Ave. At this intersection, turn left onto W Cottage Ave and follow it to the end where you will find the bus stop for the local transit.

Bus
Take the local bus service from the bus stop at W Cottage Ave. Board the bus that heads towards the Carlsbad Airport, and get off at the stop for the Airport. From there, you will need to change buses to the one that goes to the San Clemente Pier area. Follow the signs or ask the driver for assistance. Once you arrive at San Clemente, you can walk to the pier.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Carlsbad. Start at the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center and head southeast on W Fox St. Turn right onto S Main St and continue straight for about 1 mile. Follow the bike path that leads towards the San Clemente area. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the pier; it should take around 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
