If you're starting from the Carlsbad Caverns Visitor Center, walk south on NM-7 toward the intersection with US-62. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection. Turn left onto US-62 and continue walking for approximately 1 mile. You will then reach the Carlsbad town square. From there, head west on W Fox St for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with S Canal St. Turn right on S Canal St and continue walking for another 0.2 miles until you hit the intersection with W Main St. Turn left on W Main St and walk 0.5 miles to the bus station.

From the Carlsbad town square, walk to the Carlsbad Bus Station located at 101 S Canal St. Check the local bus schedule for routes heading toward La Jolla or nearby areas.
