Walking
From the center of Ruhengeri, head east on Avenue de la Révolution towards Avenue du Commerce. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and cafes. After you reach the end of Avenue de l'Indépendance, continue straight onto the dirt road leading towards the Volcanoes National Park entrance.

Upon reaching the entrance of Volcanoes National Park, you will need to register at the park office. It's recommended to go there early in the morning to beat the crowds and secure a guide for the trek up Mount Bisoke. The office will provide you with guidelines and necessary information for the hike.

Once you have registered and met with your guide, start your trek from the park office. Follow the marked trails, which are well-maintained but can be challenging. The hike to the summit of Mount Bisoke takes about 6-8 hours round trip, so be prepared with appropriate hiking gear and sufficient water.
