From the center of Ruhengeri, head east on Avenue de la Révolution towards Avenue du Commerce. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and cafes. After you reach the end of Avenue de l'Indépendance, continue straight onto the dirt road leading towards the Volcanoes National Park entrance.
