Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, input the address 'Retiro, 28009 Madrid' into your GPS. From central Madrid, take the Calle de O'Donnell heading southeast. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout at Plaza de la Independencia, then turn onto Paseo del Prado. Continue along Paseo del Prado until you reach the Retiro Park entrance. There is limited parking available near the park, so be prepared to find street parking or use a public parking facility nearby. Note that parking fees may apply.

• Metro

  To reach the Monument to the Republic of Cuba using Madrid's metro system, take Line 2 (the Red Line) and alight at the 'Retiro' station. Once you exit the station, head east towards the Retiro Park. The monument is located within the park, so follow the paths leading east until you reach the monument. The ticket price for a single metro ride is approximately €1.50, but prices may vary based on the distance traveled.

• Bus

  For those using the bus, you can take several lines that stop near Retiro Park. Lines 1, 2, and 26 all serve stops close to the park. If you are starting from central Madrid, catch a bus at any major stop that serves these lines. The nearest bus stop to the monument is 'Puerta de Alcalá'. From there, walk east into the park, and you will find the monument. A single bus ticket costs around €1.50.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Retiro Park, walking is a pleasant way to reach the monument. From the main entrance of Retiro Park, simply walk east along the park’s main paths. The monument is located centrally within the park, so you should see signs or maps directing you to it. This option is free and allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the park.
