After approximately 5 kilometers, take a left turn onto Wewelkandura - Kosgahawela Rd. Continue on this road for about 3 kilometers until you reach the Alikota Ara Reservoir, which will be on your right. Make sure to follow local road signs and keep an eye out for the reservoir's entrance.

To reach Alikota Ara Reservoir using public transport, begin at Moneragala town bus terminal. Board a bus heading towards Buttala. The fare is usually around LKR 50-100. After approximately 15-20 minutes, ask the conductor to drop you off at Wewelkandura - Kosgahawela Rd. From there, you can either walk 3 kilometers to the reservoir or hire a local tuk-tuk, which should cost around LKR 300-500, depending on your negotiation skills. The reservoir will be on your right as you approach on foot.
