The beach is perfect for swimming, with the swimming area gradually giving way to a shallow shelf with tide pools to the west. Lindquist Beach offers a variety of activities and amenities. Snorkeling enthusiasts can explore the right side of the beach, where they might spot stingrays, schools of fish, and sea turtles. For those seeking relaxation, there are picnic tables and natural shade provided by coconut groves on the right side and sea grape trees on the left. While Lindquist Beach is a popular destination, it rarely gets as crowded as other beaches on St. Thomas, especially during the week. The beach is well-maintained by the Magens Bay Authority, ensuring a clean and enjoyable experience for all. Keep an eye out for iguanas sunbathing along the beach, but remember not to feed them.

    Getting There

    Taxi/Ride-Share

    From Cyril E. King Airport (STT), a taxi or ride-share is the most direct way to reach Lindquist Beach. The drive is approximately 25-30 minutes. Expect to pay around $25-$35 for the ride, depending on traffic and the number of passengers. Confirm the rate with the driver before starting your trip.

    Public Transport

    From Charlotte Amalie, take the VITRAN bus route 401 towards Red Hook. Get off at the Smith Bay Road stop, near the entrance to Smith Bay Park. From there, it's a short 4-minute walk to Lindquist Beach. The bus fare is $1 per person. Buses may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance.

    Driving

    If you have a rental car, Lindquist Beach is easily accessible via Smith Bay Road on the east end of St. Thomas. From Red Hook, head west on Route 38 and look for the sign for Smith Bay Park. There is a parking lot near the beach entrance, with a $2 parking fee. The parking area is a short 5-minute walk from the beach.
