Getting There

    From the center of Tahoe City, head south on Highway 89. Walk along the pedestrian path that runs alongside the highway. Continue walking for approximately 5 miles. You will pass by the beautiful Lake Tahoe on your right. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Mt. Tallac Trailhead as you approach South Lake Tahoe. Once you reach the junction with Mount Tallac Road, turn left and walk for another half mile until you reach the trailhead entrance.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Tahoe City. Start by heading south on Highway 89, using the designated bike path to ensure safety. Cycle along the scenic route for about 5 miles, enjoying the views of Lake Tahoe on your right. When you reach the junction with Mount Tallac Road, turn left and continue biking for another half mile. The trailhead will be on your left.

  • Public Transit

    Take the local bus service, BlueGO, from the Tahoe City Transit Center. Board the bus heading towards South Lake Tahoe. You will need to ask the driver to stop at the nearest stop for Mount Tallac Trailhead, which is often near the junction with Mount Tallac Road. From there, it is a short walk of about half a mile to the trailhead entrance.
