    Driving

    From Highway 1, turn west onto Kelly Avenue to reach Francis Beach, Venice Boulevard for Venice Beach, or Young Avenue for Dunes and Roosevelt Beaches. Parking is available at each beach for $10 per vehicle per day. Parking lots often fill up quickly on weekends.

    Public Transport

    Take SamTrans route 17 or 294 to Main Street and Poplar in Half Moon Bay. From there, transfer to the Coastside Beach Shuttle (weekends only) for a connection to Half Moon Bay State Beach, Roosevelt Beach, and Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Alternatively, walk or bike from Main Street to the beach access points.

    Local tips

    Parking is $10 per vehicle, and the lots can fill up quickly on sunny weekends, so arrive early.
    Dogs are not allowed on the beaches but are permitted on the Coastal Trail and in the campground on a leash.
    The Half Moon Bay State Beach Visitor Center is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
    Swimming is not recommended due to cold water temperatures and unpredictable rip currents.
