Car
If you're driving from Strasbourg, take the A35 highway south towards Colmar. After about 45 minutes, take the exit for A5 toward Freiburg im Breisgau. Continue on A5 until you reach exit 62 for Freiburg-Mitte. Follow the signs for the city center (Zentrum) and Kanonenplatz. There is parking available near the square, but do check for parking fees which could range from €1 to €3 per hour depending on the zone.

Train
From any major town in Alsace, such as Strasbourg or Mulhouse, take a regional train (TER) to Freiburg im Breisgau. The journey from Strasbourg takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and walk approximately 15 minutes to Kanonenplatz. Head southwest on Bismarckallee, then turn left onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, which will lead you directly to the square. Note that train tickets can cost around €10 to €20 depending on your starting location.

If you're in the Alsatian towns close to the border, you may find direct buses to Freiburg. Check local schedules, as they vary. If you're taking a bus from Strasbourg, you can use the FlixBus service. Once you arrive at the bus station in Freiburg, it's a short 10-minute walk to Kanonenplatz. Exit the bus station, head towards Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, and follow it until you reach the square. Bus fares can range from €5 to €15.

If you arrive at Freiburg Hauptbahnhof, you can take tram line 1 or 3 towards 'Littenweiler' or 'Zähringen' respectively. Get off at the 'Bertoldsbrunnen' stop, which is about a 5-minute walk from Kanonenplatz. Follow the signs leading to the city center, and you'll find Kanonenplatz easily. A single ticket for the tram costs around €2.70.
