If you are driving, start from the town of Reykjanesbær. Take Route 43 towards the southwest and follow the signs for Grindavík. After approximately 7 km, turn left onto Route 427. Continue on this road for about 9 km, then turn right onto Seltún Road. The Seltún Geothermal Area is located just off this road. Look for signs indicating the geothermal area as you get closer. There is parking available at the site, which is free of charge.

To reach Seltún Geothermal Area via public transport, take a bus from Reykjavik to Grindavík. You can catch a bus from the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik. Once in Grindavík, you may need to arrange a taxi or check local services to reach Seltún Geothermal Area, as direct public transport might not be available. The taxi ride from Grindavík to Seltún should take about 15 minutes and will cost approximately 3,000-4,000 ISK.

If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to walk, from the nearest bus stop in Grindavík, head southwest on Route 427. The walk to Seltún Geothermal Area is about 5 km and will take roughly 1 hour. Make sure to follow the road signs towards Seltún, and be prepared for some uneven terrain as you approach the geothermal area.
