Car
If you are driving from Hida, head west on Route 158 towards Matsumoto. After about 45 km, you will reach Matsumoto City. From there, take Route 15 towards Azumi. Follow the signs for Kamikochi. You will reach the Kamikochi entrance point. Note that you cannot drive directly into Kamikochi; you must park your car at the designated parking area and take a bus. The parking fee is approximately 1,000 yen per day.

Public Transportation
From Hida, take the JR Takayama Line to Matsumoto Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once at Matsumoto Station, transfer to the Alpico Kotsu bus that goes to Kamikochi. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and it costs around 2,200 yen one way. The bus will drop you off at the Kamikochi bus terminal, from which you can walk to Kamikochi Onsen Hotel.
