Car
If you are driving from Kobe, take the Sanyo Expressway (Sanyo Sōdō) heading towards Okayama. Exit at the Matsumoto Interchange and follow Route 158 towards Matsumoto. Continue on Route 158 until you see signs for Kamikochi. Take Route 476 towards Kamikochi where parking is available at the Kamikochi parking lot (approximately 1,500 yen per day). From the parking lot, you will need to take a shuttle bus to Kamikochi since private vehicles are not allowed in the area. The shuttle costs about 1,000 yen one way.

Public Transportation
To reach Kappa-bashi Bridge by public transportation, start by taking a train to Matsumoto Station. If you're coming from Kyoto or Osaka, you can take the JR Shinano Limited Express from Nagoya or the JR Hida Limited Express from Takayama. Once at Matsumoto Station, transfer to the Matsumoto Dentetsu Kamikochi Line and take the train to Shin-Shimashima Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Shin-Shimashima Station, board a bus that takes you directly to Kamikochi, where the Kappa-bashi Bridge is located. The bus fare is around 2,500 yen one way.

Once you arrive at Kamikochi, Kappa-bashi Bridge is accessible via a scenic walking trail. The walk from the bus stop to the bridge is about 30 minutes and is well-marked. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, including views of the surrounding mountains and the Azusa River.
