If you are traveling by car, start from central Hiroshima. Take Route 2 heading southwest towards Hatsukaichi. Follow the signs for Miyajima and continue on Route 2 for about 40 minutes. Once you reach the Miyajima ferry terminal, park your car in the designated parking area (there is a parking fee of approximately 1,000 yen for the day). Then take the ferry to Miyajima Island. The ferry ride takes around 10 minutes. Upon arrival at Miyajima, walk towards Kiyomori Shrine, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Follow the signs leading to the shrine, and enjoy the scenic route through the island.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the JR Sanyo Line from Hiroshima Station to Miyajima-guchi Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once at Miyajima-guchi Station, follow the signs to the ferry terminal. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Miyajima (approximately 180 yen one way). The ferry ride will take about 10 minutes. After arriving at Miyajima, exit the ferry terminal and walk toward Kiyomori Shrine, which is roughly a 20-minute walk. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the shrine.
