If you're driving from central Hiroshima, take the San'yō Expressway (also known as the Sanyo Expressway) and exit at Hatsukaichi. From there, follow the signs for Miyajima. You'll need to drive approximately 30 minutes to reach the ferry terminal at Miyajimaguchi. There is parking available at the terminal, but be aware that it may incur a fee, typically around 500-1000 yen per day. After parking, take a ferry to Miyajima Island; the ferry ticket costs about 180 yen one way.

Public Transportation
To reach the Miyajima History and Folklore Museum using public transport, start by taking the JR Sanyo Line from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station. This journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Miyajimaguchi Station, head to the nearby ferry terminal and purchase a ticket for the ferry to Miyajima Island, which costs approximately 180 yen one way. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive on the island, it’s a short 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal to the Miyajima History and Folklore Museum located at 57 Miyajimacho, Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima 739-0533.
