Car
If you are driving from Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) towards Asahikawa. Exit at the Tokachigawa Onsen Interchange. Follow the signs for Tokachigaoka Park. The park is located at 14 Chome-4 Tokachigawaonsenkita, Otofuke, Kato District, Hokkaido 080-0262. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours and there is a toll fee on the expressway, which can cost around 1,200 to 3,000 yen depending on your vehicle type.
Public Transport (Train + Bus)
Start by taking a train from Sapporo Station to Minami Chitose Station on the Rapid Airport Line (approximately 30 minutes). From Minami Chitose Station, transfer to the Limited Express Super Tokachi towards Obihiro. Get off at Tokachigawa Station (approximately 2 hours). From Tokachigawa Station, take a local bus to Tokachigaoka Park, which takes around 15 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as they may be limited.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you are in Obihiro, take a direct bus from Obihiro Station to Tokachigawa Onsen. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Tokachigawa Onsen, you can walk to Tokachigaoka Park, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus drop-off point. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
