Car
If you're driving from Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) towards the Tokachi area. After about 2 hours, take the exit at Shikaoi (鹿追) and follow Route 38 towards Shikaoi. Continue on Route 38 for about 30 minutes until you reach Lake Shikaribetsu Nature Center, which is located along the lakeshore.

To reach Lake Shikaribetsu Nature Center via public transportation, start from Sapporo Station. Take a train to Obihiro Station, which takes about 1.5 hours. From Obihiro, transfer to a bus heading to Shikaoi. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Shikaoi, you will need to take a local taxi or walk approximately 10 kilometers to Lake Shikaribetsu Nature Center. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.

If you're already in Shikaoi and prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi to Lake Shikaribetsu Nature Center. The taxi ride from Shikaoi town to the Nature Center will take around 20 minutes and will cost approximately ¥3000-¥4000.
