If you are traveling by car, start from Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido. Take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) towards Asahikawa. After about 2 hours, take the exit at Kamishihoro (上士幌) and follow Route 273 towards Kamishihoro. Continue on Route 273 for approximately 30 minutes. You will see signs for Higashitaisetsu Nature Centre. The exact address is 48-2 Nukabiragensenkyo, Kamishihoro, Kato District, Hokkaido 080-1403. Parking is available at the centre.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a train from Sapporo Station to Kamikawa Station (approx. 2.5 hours). From Kamikawa, take a bus to Kamishihoro. Buses may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. Once in Kamishihoro, take a taxi to the Higashitaisetsu Nature Centre, which is about a 20-minute drive away. Be prepared for potential taxi costs; a ride may cost around 3,000 to 4,000 yen.
