If you're driving from central Izu, enter the address '2740 Shirahama, Shimoda, Shizuoka 415-0012' into your GPS. From Izu City, take National Route 135 south towards Shimoda. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach Shimoda. Follow the signs for Shirahama. The shrine is located near the coast, and you will find parking available nearby, but be prepared to pay a small fee, usually around 500 yen.

Public Transportation - Train and Bus
To reach Shirahama Shrine using public transportation, start by taking the Ito Line from Izu City Station to Ito Station. From Ito Station, transfer to the Izu Kyuko Line and take a train to Shimoda Station. The journey takes about an hour in total. Once you arrive at Shimoda Station, exit the station and catch a local bus that heads to Shirahama. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule beforehand, as buses may run less frequently in the late afternoon.
