Getting There

Car
From central Kyoto, take the Ryuoh-dori (Ryuoh Street) heading northeast. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with the Kyoto City Loop Line. Turn left onto the Loop Line and follow the signs for Sakyo Ward. After about 5 km, you will see signs for Okazaki Hoshojicho. Turn right and follow the road until you arrive at the Nanzenji Boat Reservoir, which will be on your left. Parking may be available, but check for any fees as they can vary.

Public Transportation
Start at Kyoto Station. Take the Karasuma Line (green line) to Kitaoji Station. From there, transfer to bus number 204 or 93 heading towards 'Nanzenji Eikando-michi'. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Nanzenji Eikando-michi' stop. From the bus stop, it is a 10-minute walk to the Nanzenji Boat Reservoir. Make sure to have enough change for the bus fare, which is around 230 yen.
