From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to 'Kitaoji' Station. Transfer to bus number 204 or 17, which will take you directly to 'Nanzenji Eikando-michi' bus stop. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs directing you towards Nanzen-ji Temple, which is a short walk to the entrance of Tenjuan.

If you are already near the Nanzen-ji Temple area, simply follow the signs for Tenjuan. The garden is located adjacent to the temple, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the main gate of Nanzen-ji to the entrance of Tenjuan.
