If you are driving, start from central Kyoto and head towards Kamigyo Ward. Use the following directions: Take the Marutamachi Dori towards the north and continue straight. After passing the Kyoto Imperial Palace on your left, look for signs to Kyotogyoen. Once you reach Kyotogyoen, there is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking may incur a fee (approximately 500-1000 yen depending on the duration). Oikeniwa (Pond Garden) is located within the garden area.

To reach Oikeniwa (Pond Garden) using public transportation, start by taking the Kyoto City Bus from Kyoto Station. You can catch Bus No. 205 or 101, which will take you to the 'Kōkyo-mae' stop. From there, walk towards the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which is about a 10-minute walk. As you approach the Imperial Palace, enter the Kyotogyoen area. Oikeniwa (Pond Garden) is located within this garden. The bus fare from Kyoto Station to Kōkyo-mae is approximately 230 yen.
