Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Kyoto, take the Meishin Expressway and head towards Otsu. Take the Otsu exit and follow Route 1 towards Otsu city center. After approximately 10 minutes, turn onto Route 161 towards Lake Biwa. Continue on this road for about 5 kilometers. Follow the signs for Suikanji, which will lead you to Onjojicho. There is parking available near the temple, but be aware that it may have a small fee.

    To reach Suikanji using public transportation, start by taking the JR train from Kyoto Station to Otsu Station. This journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 600 yen.
