Getting There

  • Subway

    Take the Karasuma Line from Kyoto Station towards Kokusaikaikan. Get off at Shijo Station (approximately 10 minutes). Transfer to the Hankyu Line and take the train to Kawaramachi Station (approximately 2 minutes).

    From Kawaramachi Station, exit the station and head east on Shijo Street. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Higashiyama Street (about 10 minutes). Turn left and continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Maruyama Park.

    Enter Maruyama Park and walk towards the center. You will see the famous Yasaka Shrine on your left. Continue walking straight through the park until you see the entrance of Chourakukan, located at 604 Maruyamacho.

    Alternatively, from Kyoto Station, you can take bus number 100 or 206. Get off at the Gion bus stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Chourakukan. Walk towards Yasaka Shrine, which will lead you to Maruyamacho.
