Walking
From the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, head down the hill towards Kiyomizu-zaka Street. You will see a sign for Otokozaka on your right after walking approximately 10 minutes. The slope is known for its steep incline and is a beautiful path lined with traditional shops and tea houses.

Public Transport (Bus)
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera. The fare is around 230 yen. Alight at the Kiyomizu-michi bus stop. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to Otokozaka. Follow the signs directing you towards Kiyomizu-dera, and you will find the slope to your right.

If you are in the Gion area, walk towards the Yasaka Shrine, then head towards the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The walk takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you reach the temple, follow the same route down Kiyomizu-zaka Street to find Otokozaka on your right.
