Getting There

  • Public Transport - Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR San-In Line towards Kameoka. Get off at the Omiya Station. Once at Omiya Station, exit and head towards the Omiya subway station. From there, take the Kyoto City Subway Tozai Line towards Rokujizo and get off at Higashiyama Station. After exiting the station, turn right onto Shijo Street and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Shijoomiyacho. Turn left and continue walking for about 5 minutes until you see Kōenji Temple on your right.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take bus number 205 or 17 from bus stop D2. Get off at Shijo Omiya bus stop. From the bus stop, walk south along Omiya Street until you reach Shijoomiyacho. Turn left and walk for about 5 minutes; Kōenji Temple will be on your right.

  • Walking

    If you are in the central area of Kyoto, you can walk to Kōenji Temple. Start from the Kyoto Tower and head west along Karasuma Street for about 20 minutes. Then turn left onto Shijo Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Shijoomiyacho. Turn right onto Shijoomiyacho, and you will find Kōenji Temple after a short walk on your left.
