Getting There

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 205 (or 206) towards Takagamine. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Takagamine Shōtengai stop. From there, walk north along Takagamine Koetsucho for about 10 minutes until you reach Kōetsu-ji Temple at 29 Takagamine Koetsucho.

  • Train and Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sanin Line to Kitakuwada Station (around 15 minutes). Once you arrive at Kitakuwada Station, exit the station and take a bus (number 55 or 57) towards Takagamine. Get off at Takagamine Shōtengai stop, then walk north along Takagamine Koetsucho for about 10 minutes to reach Kōetsu-ji Temple.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Kyoto Station. The journey will take around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Just provide the driver with the address: 29 Takagamine Koetsucho, Kita Ward, Kyoto.
